Our poly amid rollers are about 2x as fast as roller made from poly acrylic or polyester. Choosing the right paint roller your job is important is you want to make a profit. Important:
- Choose the right roller fabric for the job.
- Choose the best structure of the fabric.
Not all paint rollers are the same: the material of the paint roller is very important. For instance poly-amide fabrics will generally paint 2 times as fast as polyester or poly acrylic fabric. That means painting a wall will take twice as long. See the table below for details.
Another important feature is the structure of the fabric: Our Terracotta and Goldstripe rollers are both made from poly-amid but the behave very different.
Some rollers are made of stapled fibre. That means they are made of short pieces and they are spun into a long thread like wool. This results in a nice soft fabric. The roller holds a lot of paint and the finish is nicer than the “continuous fibres”. These rollers are for the more experienced painters since they need to be worked in well and used for undercoat first. The 18 mm Goldstripe roller especially for ceilings is an example. The “lint free” alternative is the Teflon green 18 mm which is an excellent, high quality roller or you can use the Triple Orange 18 mm
